The Situation:
- Current turnover levels were higher then acceptable
- New employees took too long to get up to expected productivity levels
- Process for internal selection was informal and not standardized
What We Did:
- Identified critical competencies for success for the key roles in the organization
- Developed a behavior-based interviewing protocol (process, interview guides, evaluation forms) to ensure all candidate were being assessed against the critical competencies
- Trained all hiring managers in behavior-based interviewin
The Outcome:
- Turnover was reduced to acceptable levels
- Improvement in employee productivity
- Managers reported leveraging skills developed in interviewing to assist them managing and developing current employees
